How Steel works in PokéSurvivor
The game ships a simplified type chart, not the mainline one, so Steel does not carry every interaction you may remember. It hits fairy for 2×, ice for 2× and rock for 2× and is resisted by electric for 0.5×, fire for 0.5×, steel for 0.5× and water for 0.5×. Against everything else it stays at 1×, so Steel damage is a safe default rather than a matchup pick. The chart lives in the same source snapshot as every other number on this page.
Steel partners and where they rank
61 of the 966 partners carry Steel, 53 of them as part of a dual typing. 12 sit in the 5★ pool and 0 are free starters. The strongest is Solgaleo at rank 8 with 132 HP and 119 speed, while Shieldon sits at rank 956. The median three-stat percentile across the group is 49.6, which is roughly level with the roster average of about 50.
What hits Steel hardest
fighting, fire and ground deal double damage into Steel. It takes half damage from bug, dragon, fairy, flying, grass, ice, normal, psychic, rock and steel. It takes nothing at all from poison. For dual-type partners the multipliers stack, so a Steel partner that also carries a second type can end up with weaknesses that neither type has on its own — check the partner page before assuming Steel is the defensive story.
Steel moves and their damage
5 moves in the pool are Steel. By raw damage per second at level 1 the order starts with Metal Claw at 36 damage per second, Meteor Mash at 24.3 damage per second and Flash Cannon at 21.9 damage per second. Level 5 and the matching attack multiplier change that order for individual partners, so the partner pages list each pool's own ranking instead of a single site-wide one. 5 of them can evolve, and the evolution is always a card pick during a run, never a permanent purchase.
